How true this is and it may be the only big problem we have changing the tenor of the electorate. We have an uneducated populace. Maybe per person the very lowest in my 50 odd years. Way more ignorant of political and socialogical movements in this world than any American population in my lifetime. I can only imagine that people, mostly men, would actually converse with each other in the public squares, in the barbershops, in the workplaces, and any and everywhere they met. They could talk about their opinions of the truth and the headlines if they could. There were still politicians who took a stand for what was right and not just politically expendable. Maybe? What did the Lobbyist pay them to actually vote for and rally for and not just dissuade their constituents to the contrary so they could garner votes with lies.
What do people know? Why has education been dumbing us down? What happened to constitutional and civics being taught so we could have a foundation to live by. It has gone the way of the horse and buggy my friends. People are just retreads of educational brainwashing techniques and drones echoing the talking points of the ones who want to control us all.
The ones who want to control us all....
...control us ALL!
...us ALL!
...ALL!

I have never believed even for a second that Communism had been defeated. It simply change its M.O. slightly because it was at a point that it didn't need to wear the same old clothes to be effective and keep on marching. Evil never sleeps, it is like water or electricity, it follows the path of least resistance, rotting the wood down to the foundation.
I do not distinguish between all of the different permutations of power addicted, slave-mongering, death eating philosophies. I categorize them all under what I call the Totalist Permutations Umbrella. From the solitary ally mugger all the way to the Dictator, these pitiful excuses for human beings all have there minds shaded and controlled by the same evil philosophy. It matters not if you put a "D", or an "R","I" before their name. Or they have a collar and take confessions, wear a badge or take an oath to uphold the Constitution of the USA. If power is your god, and evil your love you will find yourself under this Umbrella and your oath will no longer matter.
The Democrat party was killed by subversives that now infiltrate the Republican Party under the guise of Moderates, Centrists, and people like John MCain who try to pass them selves off as Conservatives. One might argue that J.M. was a Conservative, but he drank the Kool-Aid 7 or 8 years ago and is not the man he used to be. So save your breath.
We must loose all the different sub labels and make it simple. Stalin knew that he that controls the language...controls. A good place to start is by not talking Totalist. We loose right away because we play by their rules. Lets call them by what evil they are..."Totalists" period. Learn to recognize Total speak and don't do it. Talk Liberty instead. Like anything else it gets easier with practice. Then you can more easily tell whether a person is a true believer or a useful idiot and whether or not to waste your time.
Stan: Conservatives didn't loose confidence in the ideals of Liberty. We were infiltrated by subversives that are hell bent on destruction just like they always have been. This is the gift of Karl Marx for humanity. All of the totalist philosophies are based on the quicksand foundation of destruction. Liberal and Socialist monikers and all their permutations are shaded under the Totalist Umbrella along with too many others to list here. Don't give them the legitimacy of using their terms. Totalism is a slap in the face of every decent human being on earth and should be used as a club against those same Totalists. Again Totalism is the proper term by which to call all power addicted, slave-mongering, death eating philosophies in the world.
And I do understand that total is the root of totalitarianism(which is also under the T.P.U.) and works very nicely as a descriptor as to what the Shaded Brethren all want. Total Control of everything! Thanks for your time and keep up the hard work. L.L.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Posted by: John Nov 28, 08:52 PM
This is a very important article, and must be circulated widely. I believe Randall Hoven has articulated exactly what many, many Americans believe, and fear. The infrastructure to implement the planks of Communism has been completed. As a student of revolutionary change, either violent or non-violent, there must be control of certain critical cultural "levers." Of course the challenge is how does a minority gain acceptance over the majority. The seven key cultural levers to control:
1. Media. Newspapers, magazines, television, radio (the "Fairness" Doctrine will address this one)
2. Entertainment, most especially movie, documentary just like Joseph Goebbels found invaluable.
3. Religion must be marginalized so the state can assume the vacuum. As Stalin found to be critical.
4. Schools, high schools, and colleges and indoctrinate, "re-educate" the youth. Like the N. Vietnamese.
5. Family structure breakdown down, redefined to be ambiguous so the state can assume the vacuum.
6. Judicial system with a few well paced radical judges to legislate doctrine from the bench.
7. Labor unions to control and extort critical industries for economic leverage and crisis making.
With the above infrastructure in place it is possible to set the following conditions:
1. Uninformed, and misinformed population. Distort, misrepresent, and suppress information.
2. Establish new icons to reinforce new values, attitudes and beliefs. John Wayne vs. Alex Baldwin.
3. Remove moral and organized opposition. Remember Poland and Pope John Paul II?
4. Rewrite history, espouse the virtues of Marxism vs. evil corporations. "MTV says Marxism is cool"
5. Weaken the family authority and influence on values. Ayers Annenberg "experiment" was just this.
6. Overturn the Constitution without the need for majority legislation, and enact the above items.
7. Lessen the power of capital engines (corporations), control segments of the economy / voting blocks.
With these seven "levers" in place, all that's needed is an "incident" or "crisis" to cause the launch. Something big like the current financial crisis we are experiencing. Unveiled a month before the presidential elections, created by the Marxists through enactment of the Community Reconstruction Act, and nurtured to a magnitude of national and global disaster. This concept is right out of Barack Obama's and Hillary Clinton's mentor, Marxist Saul Alinsky. Rahm Emmanuel recently said that we must not waste the opportunity of this crisis .....
With a "dumbed down", uninformed, and misinformed population, a "smoke and mirrors" presidential campaign can be successful if a charismatic candidate, regardless of credentials and qualifications, could be presented. The Marxist have been waiting, that's why they called Obama "The One." With enough money, a little luck, and the above seven levers in place, the plan to move the United State of America to a Marxist country is in its end game. All this happened with most Americans not having a clue. The Republicans brought a knife to a gun fight.
This is how we got in the situation we are in. With a close to 60 Democrat majority, it's all but certain we will move Socialist under a Marxist ideology. Things are going to happen that will shock and anger many Americans, but there won't be a thing that can be done. Much damage will occur to the land of the free, that won't be even partly undone for a long, long time, if ever. The American people made a big, big mistake by not doing their civic duty of learning about the candidates. Each specific voting block, that put Obama into office could only see "what's in it for me?", "who will I get the most from?" Worse yet "who looks the coolest?" Americans did not vote as Americans, for the common good. American Idol voter mentality. "Checkmate" was called on November 4th, 2008 by the Marxist who planned the strategy, George Soros, Peter Davis, and George Lakeoff, with their front man Barack Obama. That's exactly my point, we are playing bingo, they were playing chess. God bless and help the United States of America.

Everyone here so far with one exception "gets" what's happening. Blair's succinct summary of the difference between Left and Right explains why they are winning. The Left has an agenda and is grindingly relentlessly working on it 24/7, whether in or out of power. The Right is passive and living its (until now) happy productive life.
Throughout the West, we are seeing the evil result "when good men do nothing" and the damaged neurotic nefarious ones keep grinding away.
I mean, look at poor incoherent Lily. She finds the time and energy to come to a bastion of conservative thought and make her faithful deposit of leftist drivel calling people liars on a minor technicality, obfuscating the big picture that Ayers is an unrepentant terrorist communist and has close ties to Obama that the messiah lied about. It's like water wearing away a rock over time. Conservatives don't infest liberal spaces nearly as much, not that our comments are allowed to stand there and the disgusting sliming that one gets makes it much more of a challenge than the relatively benign reception leftists get here.
The Left got the public education system and media in their clutches with little opposition or even notice, allowing misinformed voting in of a government and following soon after a government appointed judiciary to start carrying out their more blatantly marxist plans still covered with feel-good make up: "cultural sensitivity", "saving the environment", "the right to health care", "social justice" and labelling those against it as bigots, irresponsible deniers of science, greedy capitalists etc. needing to be gagged.
Leslie wrote: "The irony which I find infuriating, is the Jewish vote for Obama. All a Jewish American had to do was look to Britain to get a glimpse at the vicious anti-semitism emanating from the Left ie the University professors union. Britain is no longer a place which is safe or welcoming for the Jews and America may no longer be either".
I'm sorry Leslie, but as you've pointed out yourself, if you're Jewish you are in the minority who are going to suffer by the actions of the majority of Jews who vote over 80% Democrat/liberal/left whatever country they are in and support them with generous contributions. Jews were prominent in the early Bolshevik days and the destructive system they helped put in place came round to bite them in the ass eventually. The same scenario is playing out again. There is no denying the raw intelligence of the Jewish community throughout history judging by Nobel prizes and personal success but smart people do dumb things and this is one of them. The majority of Jews prefer collectivism as the way to the "social justice" that they hold dear, meaning socialism for "other people" while simultaneously being unusually successful themselves through capitalism. They are in this way contributing to killing the golden goose of individual freedom/capitalism that has so richly rewarded them.
What is needed now are droves of conservative warriors at every level of prominence to fight to turn around the Leviathan of socialism which is suffocating the West. It may be too little too late, but better to go down fighting than just succumb. If another Reagan arose to lead the "troops", then great strides could be made within a short period of time (as Obamamania proves) but it is an impossibility if there are no troops willing to be counted.

I wrote this on a conservative blog in Sept of last year:
Who won the Cold War? by Eyas on on 09/07/07, 2:55pm
It has recently become clear to me that WE - the United States, capitalists, lovers of democracy - did not WIN the Cold War. All due respect to Ronaldus Magnus, but at best the Cold War ended in a Stalemate.
Rather than calling someone a "socialist", I just call them what they truly are -- "Communists". The Soviet Union was not called the Union of Soviet Communist Republics, it was called the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. This did not hide the fact that they were, in fact, Communists.
Militarily, and Economically we, the U.S.A, clearly won the Cold War.
But Ideologically we just as clearly lost.
We defeated an Overseas enemy. A foreign nation.
HOWEVER:
1. In the mean time, Communists took over ALL of the Press and the Media in this country.
2. In the mean time, Communists took over the duty of "teaching" and indocrinating our youth - Nationwide.
3. In the mean time, Communists managed to infiltrate Federal Government jobs to the point that a vast majority of Federal employees - regardless of Department or Agency - have become Communists
4. In the mean time, Communists managed to infiltrate and completely take over ONE ENTIRE Political Party in this country.
Reminder: we've only got TWO political parties, how many more can we afford to lose to Communist ideals?

Amen, Randall. Very well-stated. We see these things happening right before our very eyes; but what are we to do about it? That's the big corker in the screw. We have history to guide us. We have great thinkers and leaders like Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, George Washington, Ronald Reagan, Rev. Charles Spurgeon, and Dr. Charles Stanley. Today, we have Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Margaret Thatcher, Selwyn Duke, Sean Hannity, and many other people like you.
Charles Spurgeon said in one of his articles published about the Downgrade Controversy: "Finding ourselves in a community which had no articles of faith, and seeing deadly error rising up, we had no course but to withdraw. Whether others think fit to do so or not is no part of our responsibility; but nothing can free any true believer from the duty of maintaining pure and undefiled religion in its doctrine, as well as in its practice, by every means in his power. The most quiet country minister, the most retiring deacon or elder, the most obscure Christian man or woman—each one must come up to the help of the Lord against the mighty. The crisis becomes every day more acute: delays are dangerous; hesitation is ruinous. Whosoever is on the Lord's side must show it at once, and without fail."
Read Spurgeon's articles in the Sword and Trowel about the Down-Grade Controversy in 1884 to get an idea of how we got where we are today and how we have slithered along this slippery slope. While I realize the importance of and appreciate the presence of so much wonderful writing these days, my heart aches that some of those brilliant ones do not feel called to be political leaders.

We need more political leaders, not more excellent writing.
We are talking to ourselves; that will never accomplish the goal.
I am not a suitable candidate for political office, but there are dozens of people writing today who could be.
Please urge those you know who can speak for us to answer the call.
I am almost ready to stop reading conservative thought because of its evident powerlessness to improve the situation.
We need articulate political leaders, not more pundits. We have an emergency, folks. I wonder if we deserve to survive if there are none among us who will answer the call.
It's just too depressing to read and read and see that we are talking to ourselves and the futility of continuing to do that and only that.
Sorry for the pessimistic rant, but I am about ready to go back into political hibernation -- where are the patriots who can do something?
We need a conservative movement that will MAKE NEWS; come on, all you brilliant American Thinkers -- let's think of something and then DO IT.

The essential difference between the political Left and Right is that the Left has an Agenda and the Right does not. The Left is made up of people who are neurotically driven to re-make the world. They are messianists compelled to find personal salvation by trying to create a heaven on earth. They are correspondingly relentless in their pursuit of this Agenda. It's their "religion" without which their pathetic existence has no meaning; no purpose. The Right is passive. It just wants to be left alone and allowed to live family-centered lives in peace and in the pursuit of happiness. This passive Right stands as the hated obstacle which the Left sees as the one barrier to their creation of an earthly utopia. The (middle-class) Right must therefore be eliminated and that end justifies any means. In short, the radical Left is an ever-present virus in the world body which must be fought constantly but which will always be with us. [maxentropy.squarespace.com]

If we are to survive intact for another generation....these busy Red termites must be politically exterminated by any means necessary. Let the after school de-programming commence at dinner tables across America. The distinguished AT board of professors will provide the home school curricula. Let's do a 2 pt Alinsky reverse on them. Begin by mocking and ridiculing them for the clueless idiots they are. Make them the fat tipsy drunk dumb guy in a tuxedo hitting the strategically placed banana peel and hurtling ass over tea kettle into their own open cesspool. Brave scholars like Randall Hoven must continue to turn over the flat rock of truth and reveal their real agenda....by counter-attacking them with their own nuanced focus-grouped propaganda. Make them live up to their purported progressive pie-in-the-sky utopian social justice 'values'....that have been postponed for two centuries by global capitalism's prosperity. Watch them tap-dance and say that's not what they really meant....that we are cynically distorting their good intentions. The sane educated majority would never vote in the fetid rot they're selling....they must be tricked....cheated.... and bamboozled into progressive socialism by contrived economic melt-downs....climate emergencies....and corrupt criminal elections. These cold hearted calculating low-down manipulative SOB's love messing with our deepest meanings and scaring little children. The looming spectre of poverty....social chaos....and their empty promises =votes. BHO could announce in his soothing sincere mellifluent FM DJ tones in a Super-Bowl half-time PSA with 57 flags behind him....that all old useless non-productive rich white people over 65 are to bequeath their wordly goods to the collective....then board the free schoolbuses to the Jim Jones Memorial Revolutionary Suicide Gulags conveniently located at free health care sport's stadium venues nationwide for the common good....or opt for the private home version provided for by Maxine Water's Black Beret national security forces....his proposed Praetorian Palace Guard of community service volunteers out of urban ghettoes and blue state college campuses. He would be wildly applauded as our beloved sharp dressed charismatic deliverer and unifying healer by drooling glaze eyed MSM Obammunist zombies and trendy Manhattan hipsters for his genius IQ....until it was their turn in the scientific selective breeding barrel. Here's some inspiring sage ancient wisdom fer ya: "Those too smart to go into politics are punished by being governed by idiots." (Plato).... "Politicians aren't born....they're excreted." (Cicero).... "The best form of government is a benevolent tyranny tempered by an occasional assassination." (Voltaire.).... "Politics is professional wrestling for the educated." (Mark Russell.) ...."White man's greed runs a world in need." (Barack Obama.) ....and.... "PC is thought control." (AT Lee.) (Rant over.) They're in the cockpit! Git er done! Let's roll!

How many ways are there to say this.
We have a problem. Marxists never left us and now we find that they not only control the media and therefore the vote, they also control a majority of the minds of our youth, thus ensuring a constant supply of new Marxists.
When a population is fed Marxism 24/7/365, at school, at work, in the news and in our entertainment, it's bound to have an effect. That is why the left continues to use this model, these tactics. Because they work.
We haven't yet decided that we are engaged in a war with terrorists, it's still considered a "criminal " matter by some, notably lawyers. Much less that the left has been attacking and winning their war on America and freedom for a long time. Why....? Terrorists are a direct threat to life and easily dispensed with. But your friendly, non-threatening, smiling, glad handing, caring, concerned, and sometimes absolutely naive, run of the mill Marxist?
This was implicit in the teachings and tactics of Saul Alinski but he wasn't alone by any means. If you want to strike a blow for freedom, remove your money and preferably their money from them. Don't read their paper, they go out of business, don't watch their news and entertainment, they're not making any money but spending vast sums trying to make you do so. Don't patronize their sponsors or products and figure other way to do them damage. Start thinking like a counter revolutionary insurgent because that is what you must now become.
Oh and as other businesses line up at the federal feed trough, don't expect that community to do anything but roll over for their belly scratch. As government not assumes control of the means of production and finance, they no longer have a choice but to submit or go out of business. Some of them actually think that they can control this to their advantage and profit believe it or not.
AND... It may get worse. Don't expect a negotiated settlement.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In June 2008, Swedish lawmakers voted in favor of a controversial bill allowing all emails and phone calls to be monitored in the name of national security. The new law, set to take effect on January 1st, 2009, will enable the National Defence Radio Establishment (FRA) — a civilian agency despite its name — to tap all cross-border Internet and telephone communication. Critics say the law — passed by a parliament with a “center-right” majority — will make Sweden more totalitarian than the former Communist dictatorships of Eastern Europe. Even the infamous Stasi in East Germany didn’t have as extensive means of surveillance against private citizens as Sweden will now have.
In order to explain this, we need to consider the prolonged and extremely destructive impact of Marxism in its various forms. It is supremely ironic that the countries in the western half of Europe, which during the Cold War were a part of the “free world,” are in some ways more damaged by Marxist indoctrination than the countries in the eastern half of Europe, where people lived under Communism for generations. We in the West have been undermined by a different strand of Marxism, one seemingly less serious since we have no Gulag here (yet), but one which slowly erodes your very will to live and removes your identity as a people.
Former Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky thinks the West lost the Cold War. “There were no Nuremberg-type trials in Moscow. Why? Because while we won the Cold War in a military sense, we lost it in the context of ideas. The West stopped one day too soon, just like in Desert Storm. Just imagine the Allies in 1945 being satisfied with some kind of Perestroika in Nazi Germany — instead of unconditional surrender. What would have been the situation in Europe then, to say nothing of Germany? All former Nazi collaborators would have remained in power, albeit under a new disguise. This is exactly what happened in the Soviet Union in 1991…Communism might have been dead, but the communists remained in power in most of the former Warsaw bloc countries, while their Western collaborators came to power all over the world (in Europe in particular). This is nothing short of a miracle…When the Nazis lost the Second World War, racial hatred was discredited. When the Soviets lost the Cold War, the tenet of class hatred remained as popular as ever.”
Bukovsky argues that while there might have been a Western military victory, Socialism still prevailed as a popular idea throughout the world. He writes: “Having failed to finish off conclusively the communist system, we are now in danger of integrating the resulting monster into our world. It may not be called communism anymore, but it retained many of its dangerous characteristics….Until the Nuremberg-style tribunal passes its judgement on all the crimes committed by communism, it is not dead and the war is not over.”
According to Czech President Václav Klaus, although Communism or the “hard version” of Socialism is probably over this has not automatically led “to a system we would like to have and live in.” The dominant economic and social system of current Western civilization is based on big and patronizing government, on “extensive regulating of human behavior and on large-scale income redistribution.”
Klaus urges all freedom loving Europeans “to understand this contemporary version of world-wide socialism, because our old concepts may omit some of the crucial features of what is around us just now. We may even find out that the continuous use of the term socialism can be misleading.” The new version of post-Marxist collectivism wants privileges for organized groups, and “in consequence, a refeudalization of society…, multiculturalism, feminism, apolitical technocratism (based on the resentment against politics and politicians), internationalism (and especially its European variant called Europeanism) and a rapidly growing phenomenon I call NGOism.”
It is no exaggeration to say that a generation after the Cold War ended, various Marxists or related left-wingers control much of the education system and the media in the Western world. As I’ve written in my essay Democracy and the Media Bias, native Europeans face three enemies simultaneously when fighting against the Islamization of their lands:
* Enemy 1 is the anti-Western bias of our media and academia, which is a common theme throughout the Western world. * Enemy 2 are Eurabians and EU-federalists, who deliberately break down established nation states in favor of a pan-European superstate. * Enemy 3 are Muslims.
The fact that members of the media and the academia tend to be more, sometimes a lot more, left-leaning politically than the average populace is well-attested and documented in all the Western countries I have been able to check, and it seems a fair guess that this trend is universal throughout the Western world. But why is the situation like this?
One could claim that this is the effect of the Western Cultural Revolution of the 1960s and 1970s, or alternatively a product of the Cold War. But if you believe the esteemed Friedrich Hayek in his writings about Socialism and the intellectuals, the trend was discernible already in the late 1940s, before the Cold War. How do we explain that? One plausible hypothesis could be to assume that those with conservative viewpoints will generally direct their energies towards business and commerce, while those with left-leaning sympathies desire to get into positions where they can influence people’s minds. Over time, this could mean that in an open society, the media, the academia and the intelligentsia will tend to gravitate towards the political Left and become dominated by people sympathetic towards Utopian ideas. Because of the positions they have gained, their political bias will significantly influence what information is presented to the general masses, and how.
The most important reason for the general passivity of Western Europeans is that they still don’t understand just how bad the EU is and how organized its pro-Islamic betrayal is. The EU’s primary weapon is deception, combined with extreme levels of organizational complexity and incomprehensible bureaucratic language. The EU’s secondary weapon is the general Western respect for law and reluctance to stage armed rebellions. Nevertheless, it is true that Western Europeans follow rules and regulations without asking too many questions. I have earlier asked whether the EU could have been established if people had not been accustomed to living in complex welfare state bureaucracies before, and the likely answer to that is no. The EU is an empire of bureaucrats, established in countries where bureaucrats already ruled. Their work has been made easier by populations conditioned by generations of indoctrination with cultural Marxism.
Cultural Marxism is an invention designed to destroy Western capitalism. Since under Soviet occupation there was no capitalism to be destroyed, cultural Marxism never came to existence there. I have explained this in the essay Political Correctness — The Revenge of Marxism.

Tactics for Anarchist-Marxist-Socialists consist in exercising every opportunity to manipulate the language of “hypocrisy” and “equality” in order to undermine the existing establishment, even to the point of upending “fairness” in order to force the release of terrorists into the countryside. See e.g., [townhall.com].
For the New Socialist, inducing sheep-like perpetual surrender to shape-shifting, linguistic confusion trumps both indoctrination and education. See e.g., [townhall.com]: “Both Shenkman and the ISI pose a bedeviling question, as crucial as any to the nation's health: Who will govern a free nation if no one understands the mechanics and instruments of that freedom? Answer: Maybe one day, a demagogue.” For how to use “socialist logic,” see [townhall.com].
For the Anarchist-Economy, understanding accounting and being skilled in predicting trends based thereupon are secondary to being skilled in intuiting trends among political opinion leaders (some of whom monopolize mainstream sources of information) and psychopathic manipulators thereof. See e.g., [townhall.com]. Krauthammer did not expressly link the final dot on the dotted line. Yes, we have gone from a market economy to a political economy. But, we have gone further: From a political economy to a financial-pirate-of-opportunity economy. Soon, pirates will have forced us to fight pirates with privateers, “24/7”. See [townhall.com].
Intellectual Samurai can try to devise means for resisting International Pirate Psychopathology. Or, they can sell their souls and join it. Regarding soul-selling: Win-at-any-cost secular-socialists, by Orwellian techniques, have upended Jefferson’s notion of a Wall-of-Separation between Church and State. See e.g., [townhall.com]..
Red Assed Moderates (RAM’s) should be tolerant (“live and let live”) on minor issues. On major issues (issues that form backbone for any reasonably meaningful civilization), RAM’s should resist being rolled. See e.g., [townhall.com].

The main ideas to come out of Marx and Engels' collective works include:
Exploitation: Marx refers to the exploitation of an entire segment or class of society by another. He sees it as being an inherent feature and key element of capitalism and free markets. Marx emphasises that exploitation takes place in capitalist production, not in circulation. He distinguishes between labour (the activity) and labour-power - a person's ability to labour. The capitalist hires the worker, paying him or her the value of his or her labour-power, that is that is, the cost of reproducing the worker. The worker's labour-power is, under capitalism, a commodity, which can be bought and sold. Marx is at pains to emphasise that capitalism does not cheat the worker. The capitalist pays the worker for the commodity labour-power at its value. The capitalist's profit comes from the fact that the worker will labour for more hours than are needed to produce the commodities used to reproduce the worker. Marx calls this 'surplus labour' and, when embodied in a commodity 'surplus-value'. This surplus value is what becomes the capitalist's profit.
Alienation: Marx refers to the alienation of people from aspects of their "human nature" ("Gattungswesen", usually translated as 'species-essence' or 'species-being'). He believes that alienation is a systematic result of capitalism. Under capitalism, the fruits of production belong to the employers, who expropriate the surplus created by others and in so doing generate alienated labour.[5] Alienation describes objective features of a person's situation in capitalism - it isn't necessary for them to believe or feel that they are alienated.
Base and superstructure: Marx and Engels use the “base-structure” metaphor to explain the idea that the totality of relations among people with regard to “the social production of their existence” forms the economic basis, on which arises a superstructure of political and legal institutions. To the base corresponds the social consciousness which includes religious, philosophical, and other main ideas. The base conditions both the superstructure and the social consciousness. A conflict between the development of material productive forces and the relations of production causes social revolutions, and the resulting change in the economic basis will sooner or later lead to the transformation of the superstructure.[6] For Marx, though, this relationship is not a one way process - it is reflexive; the base determines the superstructure in the first instance and remains the foundation of a form of social organization which then can act again upon both parts of the base-structure metaphor.[citation needed] The relationship between superstructure and base is considered to be a dialectical one, not a distinction between actual entities "in the world".[citation needed]
Class consciousness: Class consciousness refers to the awareness, both of itself and of the social world around it, that a social class possess, and its capacity to act in its own rational interests based on this awareness. Thus class consciousness must be attained before the class may mount a successful revolution. Other methods of revolutionary action have been developed however, such as vanguardism.

Karl Marx said he kept Machiavelli by his Bed side and was his greatest Inspiration to write the Communist Manifesto. Engels , Lenin , Stalin and even Mao greatly admired Machavelli .... Ends to all Means . Here is why . ________________________ Hatred is gained as much by good works as by evil. Niccolo Machiavelli
He who wishes to be obeyed must know how to command.
Hence it comes about that all armed Prophets have been victorious, and all unarmed Prophets have been destroyed.
I'm not interested in preserving the status quo; I want to overthrow it. Niccolo Machiavelli
If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared.
It is better to be feared than loved, if you cannot be both.
It is double pleasure to deceive the deceiver.
It is much more secure to be feared than to be loved.
It is necessary for him who lays out a state and arranges laws for it to presuppose that all men are evil and that they are always going to act according to the wickedness of their spirits whenever they have free scope.
It is not titles that honor men, but men that honor titles.
Men are so simple and so much inclined to obey immediate needs that a deceiver will never lack victims for his deceptions.
Men are so simple and yield so readily to the desires of the moment that he who will trick will always find another who will suffer to be tricked.
Men ought either to be indulged or utterly destroyed, for if you merely offend them they take vengeance, but if you injure them greatly they are unable to retaliate, so that the injury done to a man ought to be such that vengeance cannot be feared.
Men rise from one ambition to another: first, they seek to secure themselves against attack, and then they attack others.
Men should be either treated generously or destroyed, because they take revenge for slight injuries - for heavy ones they cannot.
Men shrink less from offending one who inspires love than one who inspires fear. Niccolo Machiavelli

This, from Investor's Business Daily, May 16, 2008:
"Obama: Stealth Socialist?
"His mild-mannered style has thrown off even some angry black radicals, who want him to speak out more forcefully about the legacy of U.S. racism and economic inequality.
"One is Princeton professor Cornel West, a militant black and self-described socialist. Reportedly, West was reluctant to join the refined Obama's presidential campaign until Obama took him aside and explained to him that he had to walk a rhetorical tightrope to reassure whites. West is now solidly on board his campaign as an adviser."
So, we have Obama being, as Randall Hoven put it, "good old American nice" to work with such as socialist Cornel West to achieve desired Marxist ends

I have been yelling this word COMMUNISM at the republican candidates for the last 3 years, in fact, the word communist is part and parcel with Democrats/Liberals/Progressives. We went communist during the 60's when the universities were filled with the "teachers", and it has gone downhill from there. Think, for crying out loud, how far we have slipped down this slippery slope.
Let me make something real clear, besides the 10 planks, these are the stages of communism (new):
1. An engineered economic collapse occurs 2. A "messiah" cult like leader emerges who promises change 3. The "lawful" takeover by the new leader's government of all major business/health care/transportation/education/finance 4. Massive unemployment/disease and starvation leads to civil riots (as opposed to civil rights) 5. A form of Marshall law is imposed and the new "messiah" is given dictatorial powers. 6. All "undesirables" and "criminals" and "unproductive" persons are sent to labor camps or killed. 7. All youth are interned in a "civil service program" and taught the party line. 8. Religion that teaches faith in God/Jesus is banned.
There are several intermingling events but you get the picture. We are a communist nation and the Republicans have drifted just as far left as the democrats have. When you see the word "professional" then you know they are already there.

"(Personally, I avoid the use of the word "capitalism." It is a Marxist term that just means letting people buy and sell what they want at the prices they want -- or what Adam Smith called "the system of perfect liberty.")"
Until you (we) are willing to stand proudly and champion "Free-Market Capitalism" as the only moral economic and political environment for free men, the struggle against Altruism / Marxism / Communism / Socialism is forfeit.
It is not possible to lead men from the depravity of collectivism until you articulate an alternative, an objective endpoint, that supports individual liberty and freedom. Free-Market Capitalism is that endpoint.

We need Reagan. I mean, we need a leader who gets attention, and can elucidate these truths. You will not defeat or even hinder this rush to communism without a leader. People will continue to vote as they have, only a small number caring enough to know whats going on, and that is why Ron Paul is wrong. He will make a great Supreme Court Justice, but he will be appointed by a leader. Then again, we did have a Reagan, and we still got here. Maybe it really is inevitable.

Mr. Hoven is spot on in his view of the current political direction. As long as the Democrat party pushes class warfare, Government run schools and health care, we are doomed to embrace socialism. We started doing this when we forgot our American Heritage and what our founding Fathers fought for and the type of Government they invisioned. Thomas Jefferson showed us what he feared most with the following sayings: " It is easy for Tyranny to gain a foothold when men of good conscience say nothing". "I predict a happy future for America, if they can prevent the Government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them".

Looking at my copy of the manifesto (from Marx-Engels Reader, second edition; copyright 1978; W. W. Norton and company, NY)...
We already have, at least in part,
1. abolition of property, 2. heavy progressive or graduated income tax (expected to worsen), 3. abolition of right of inheritance, 5. centrlisation of credit in the hands of the State, 8. equal liability of all to labour (ie strong unions), 10. free education for all children in public schools.
Bingo.

We ,in the heartland, too have our manifesto, it's called the "five boxes of Freedom" a. the Soap box, b. the Ballot box, c.the Jury box, d.. the Witness box, and the most importent one of all , e. the Cartridge box. Like the first (soap box) we are hearing it played all over the lap-dog press already. The ballot box just reminded us that the process can be bought with the help of the former. The jury is still out but it's begining to look as if the country is split, by design, in preperation for the total control of everything normal to the American peoples. The witness box is full of remarks and no one is listening to the American public, the congress has taken a leave of absence, the Prez is lost in the mix because he means nothing to so many, and the marxist are about to be on the recieving end of something this country has not seen since the federalist took power in the early 18th century. The only thing left to do is pray someone does not mistake oneself for the evil that has hit this country right between the eyes. May God Bless yours and good luck.

Oh, when I heard the news of the fall of the Berlin wall, I knew it was a VERY important symbolic event. I told the news to my wife, who was in the other room. I quickly added, "The academics in this country will keep Communism alive and say the stupid Russians just didn't do it right."
I learned in the past week that the worst Communist of this world, Antonio Gramsci, died in that Italian prison of tuberculosis and nearing death he returned to the Roman Catholic faith of his youth. Gramsci put the academics of the USA on the right track to give us the greatest grief. They attacked cultural institutions, ala Gramsci's urgings.
The Obama presidency may be a benefit to the nation in a roundabout way--we may identify the crazed Gramsci Marxists and proceed to isolate them. More than just isolate them, we need to eviscerate them from the body politic, even better yet--we must drain the pus, to mix a medical metaphor. You must incise and drain the abscess to get well.
The survival of the USA depends on avoiding the messages of the left. Quit arguing with them, they are not rational and cannot use words in the normal way. The importance of The American Thinker is bringing some sanity into internet news and analysis. The essays here help me keep my balance in the turbulence of these times.
We must keep up the fight or to use the Catch 22 lingo, we must fly one more mission until the job is done.

The USSA is already here folks. It seems too late to stop this huge push to socialism. Our out of control government is going to get even bigger under the Community Organizer in Chief because that's what community organizer's do - organize. Think up new social programs in order to buy the loyalty, buy the votes of their newly dependent constituents.
Nothing but Fabian Socialists in Wash. DC. Both parties.

You're quite right - and the problem is even worse in the UK. There are several cabinet and ex-cabinet ministers from the Labour administration who were (and may still be) self avowed Marxists and even former Communist Party members.
A couple of points, though. First of all, again, you are quite right to say we should not refer to capitalism in the way we do. Capitalism is an economic system not a political ideology. You can be communist and have a capitalist economy (China) and you can be conservative and have a planned (socialist) economy (most modern European nations).
More importantly, us conservatives have got to stop referring to the socilaists as "liberals" or "progressives" or any combination of the two. Call them what they are - socialists! I personally find it offensive that the tern "liberal" is applied to people whose political alignment could not be less liberal (in the real meaning of the word). By using the term you play into their hands as the word liberal is seen as a positive thing while conservative is considered negative.
The Democrats are less socialist than your average European conservative party - which is why they are traditionally referred to as "liberal" - but they abandoned real liberalism a long time ago, are now socialist and rapidly moving towards the European model. If you are not careful the USA will find itself in the situation we are in in Britain - where the so-called centre ground has moved considerably to the left. Our choice of political party is between the left wing Labour party or the slightly less left wing Conservative Party - and that's pretty much the same across Europe.
The consequence for us has been a collapse in confidence of the democratic electoral system. More and more people are not bothering to vote as it makes no difference which party is in power. Their policies are broadly the same - the only difference is a minor discrepancy in how the policies are applied.
Conservatism needs to regain confidence in its ideals. They work! They are proven to work and we have to stop allowing the socialists to not only set the agenda, but also the terms of reference for the agenda. We can start by calling them what they are - they are not "liberals" they are socialists.
